Ingredients
For Curd Shorba
3 cups low fat curds (dahi)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
4 tsp besan (Bengal gram flour)
1 tsp low fat butter
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup low fat milk , 99.7% fat-free
1/4 cup chopped cucumber
1/2 cup chopped tomato
salt to taste
For The Garnish
a sprig of coriander (dhania)

what is curd shorba made of? In a bowl put 3 cups low-fat curds (dahi). If not on weight loss, then use regular curd.

Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).

Add 4 tsp besan (bengal gram flour). Besan is the binding agent so that the curd will not split when cooking.

Mix well till no lumps remain.

Keep aside curd besan mixture.

In a bowl put 3 cups low-fat curds (dahi). If not on weight loss, then use regular curd.

To make curd shorba recipe | Indian dahi shorba | yogurt soup | Punjabi dahi ka shorba | heat 2 tsp oil or 2 tsp low-fat butter in a deep non-stick pan.

Add 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera).

Cook for a few seconds and let the seeds crackle.

Add 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies.

Add 1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak).

Sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.

Add 1/4 cup finely chopped onions.

Sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.

Lower the flame and add the curds-besan mixture.

Add 1/4 cup low-fat milk , 99.7% fat-free. If not on weight loss, use regular milk.

Add 1/2 cup of water.

Mix well.

Cook on a slow flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

Add 1/4 cup chopped cucumber.

Add 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes.

Add salt to taste. We added 1/2 tsp salt.

Mix well.

Cook on a slow flame for another minute, while stirring occasionally.

Serve curd shorba | Indian dahi shorba | yogurt soup | Punjabi dahi ka shorba | immediately.

To make curd shorba recipe | Indian dahi shorba | yogurt soup | Punjabi dahi ka shorba | heat 2 tsp oil or 2 tsp low-fat butter in a deep non-stick pan.

- Make sure to lower the flame before adding milk, otherwise the shorba might curdle.
- Curd shorba is best served hot with roti or rice of your choice.
- Instead of chopped green chillies, you can add chilli paste.

curds mildly flavoured and made healthy with the addition of cucumber and carrot... i loved this combination.
