To make caramelised onion and cheese panini, heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the onions, sugar and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 7 minutes, while stirring continuously. Keep aside. Slit a hot dog roll horizontally using a sharp knife and apply 1 tsp of butter on each halve. Put half the mixture of caramelised onions, 1 tsp of jalapenos and 2 tsp of grated processed cheese on the lower halve of a bread roll. Close the bread roll and brush ½ tsp of butter on top of the bread and grill in a greased pre-heated sandwich griller for 5 minutes or till they turn crispy and brown from both the sides. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to make 1 more panini. Cut each panini diagonally into 2 equal pieces. Serve immediately.

Whenever a variety of Panini bread is available, it is better to use that. However, if you cannot lay your hands on one, you can use hot dog rolls like we have done here in cheese and caramelised onion panini.

Hot cheese and caramelised onion toast is always a welcome treat – be it on a rainy day with a bowl of soup or for kitty parties and birthday parties. An interesting part of this recipe is it doesn't need any sauce or spread and it is very quick to serve with minimal ingredients. Do give it a try! What is caramelised onion and cheese panini made of?

 

    1. Caramelised onion and cheese panini is made of 2 cups sliced onions, 4 tsp grated processed cheese, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp sugarsalt to taste, 2 hot dog rolls, 5 tsp butter for spreading and brushing and 2 tsp finely chopped jalapenos.

    4. Add 1 tsp of finely chopped jalapenos. If you don’t have jalapenos, you can sprinkle chilli flakes or little finely chopped green chillies.

this is basically a philly cheesesteak without the steak, you don''t need a recipe for this.

Good taste. Slightly sweet because of onions. For those who want it spicer, can add more jalapenos. Caramelizing onions takes more time about 30 minutes stirring only once in 3 minutes.

This recipe is on top of my list as I enjoy caramelized onions and with bread my fav it just to die for. Then cheese is also added to make it taste even better, superb recipe.

Amazing recipe but please work on your diction and pronunciation as this is a channel viewed overseas as well! It is panini (paanini) and ciabatta pronounced as (chabatta)
